How to calculate a subscription cancellation notice date
Work backward from a renewal date with a 30-, 60- or 90-day notice period, then check the vendor’s actual cutoff rules.
The renewal date is when another billing period begins. A cancellation notice date can be earlier. HeadsUp’s free planner subtracts the number of calendar days you enter from the renewal date, giving you a date to verify against the vendor’s terms before you act.
Use the date and notice period from the agreement
Find the next renewal date in the vendor account or agreement. Check whether the notice requirement is expressed in calendar days, business days or months. This calculator models calendar days only.
Do not convert “one month” into 30 days without checking the terms. Also check the required cancellation method, recipient, timezone and time of day. Those conditions are not represented by a date-only subtraction.

Follow a worked date example
For an illustrative renewal on December 1, 2026, subtracting 30 calendar days gives November 1, 2026. Subtracting 60 gives October 2, 2026; subtracting 90 gives September 2, 2026. Enter those values into the free planner to compare the results.
